Much ado about agricultural reforms

The Adani-Ambani farm laws have to be repealed, tweeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, while declaring his party’s stance against three controversial farm laws, protests against which have paralyzed India’s capital, New Delhi.

Analyzing political statements of party leaders gives a behind-the-scenes glimpse into what is going on in the political sphere.

There’s a WhatsApp message being circulated in groups that seeks to shed some light on the controversial laws.

The narrator in the video points out how “Adani is secretly building massive godowns to store grains at agricultural centres in Rajpura, which is an hour’s drive from Patiala, and has built private railway lines and transportation facilities to the area”.

Connecting the dots, between Adani group’s interests in ports, airports, railway and power, entering agriculture must be a natural fit for the group.

While some Indians may be happy with an Indian company doing so well, the big black hole of how the group gets funds is the biggest source of worry.

While ED is going after everyone, why the stoic silence on Adani?
