St Patrick’s Festival goes virtual this year

Ireland’s national St Patrick’s Festival goes virtual this year and will be aired on SPF TV, a special online TV channel.

SPF TV is offering a front row virtual seat at one of Ireland’s biggest cultural celebrations over six days and nights.

The festival runs from 12 to 17 March and brings to life the heart and soul of Ireland.

The organizers said they are partnering with Irish national broadcaster RTÉ to hold a virtual parade. Further details will be made available in the coming weeks.

“While we cannot gather on the streets for St Patrick’s Festival Parade on 17 March, we are reimagining how we bring to life the heart and soul of the national parade through spectacle, marching bands, pageantry, and ceremony, inviting our audiences to participate virtually and enjoy safely from their homes.” the organizers said in a statement.

The channel will beam performances by hundreds of artists and musicians to 80 million people across the globe who claim Irish heritage, the organizers said.
