Kochi: The newly formed Global Malayalee Press Club that brings together journalists from across the globe had its first official meeting in Kochi, Kerala, on Friday.
Deepika associate editor George Kallivayal was appointed founder-president of the club.
The logo of the club will be unveiled at 4pm on Saturday, 2 January, at the Kozhikode Press Club hall by Mizoram governor P.S. Sreedharan Pillai.
Kozhikode member of Parliament (MP) M.K. Raghavan, Mathrubhumi managing director and MP M.V. Shreyams Kumar, Kozhikode Press Club president M. Feroz Khan, Kallivayal, Global Malayalee Press Club general secretary George Kakkanad and joint treasurer Sunny Manarkat will address the meet.
Kerala governor Arif Mohammad Khan will formally inaugurate the Global Malayalee Press Club at 5pm on Wednesday, 6 January, at the Symphony Hall of Mascot Hotel, in Thiruvananthapuram.
State chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan and leader of the opposition Ramesh Chennithala will also attend the function.
