Infosys marks eight years on NYSE; to ring closing bell

New Delhi Infosys will be ringing the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on Friday to mark the eighth anniversary of its listing on the bourse.

Infosys chief executive Salil Parekh will ring the closing bell in a ceremony to celebrate the IT firm’s performance this year, eighth year of trading on the NYSE, and its environmental, social and governance (ESG) vision for 2030, a regulatory filing said.

“This year marks Infosys’…commitment to create 25,000 American jobs by 2022, and efforts to meet reskilling and employment need” raised by the pandemic, Parekh said.

Infosys plans to hire 12,000 more American workers over the next two years.

Infosys has so far created 13,000 jobs in the US.

Infosys also achieved carbon neutrality this year, 30 years ahead of 2050, the timeline set by the Paris Agreement.

In its recently published ESG Vision for 2030, the company outlined goals for hiring and retaining talent as well as creating an inclusive workplace.
