GM revamps logo for first time since 1964 to highlight shift to EV future

Detroit: Automaker General Motors (GM) unveiled its new corporate logo, the first since 1964, in efforts to accelerate its shift to electric vehicles (EVs).

The “m” in the logo is a nod to the shape of an electrical plug, GM said in a statement.

The campaign to accelerate the focus on EVs includes a $27 billion investment in EV and autonomous vehicles (AV) through 2025.

GM plans to roll out 30 new EVs by 2025-end.

“There are moments in history when everything changes. Inflection points. We believe such a point is upon us for mass adoption of EVs,” said Deborah Wahl, GM’s global chief marketing officer.

GM is planning to launch a website on 11 January, Monday, that will focus on its work in electrification and autonomous driving.
