Los Angeles: Hollywood actress Jennifer Lopez will headline the coming action feature The Mother for Netflix.
Niki Caro of Mulan fame is in talks to direct the movie, which is about an assassin who comes out of hiding to protect the daughter she gave up, Variety said.
Lovecraft Country showrunner Misha Green is penning the lyrics, with current revisions by Andrea Berloff.
Lopez, who is also tying up with Netflix for The Cipher adaptation, will produce the movie with Elaine Goldsmith Thomas, Green, Benny Medina, Roy Lee and Miri Yoon.
Lopez is right now filming for Lionsgate’s Shotgun Wedding and will also be seen in Universal’s musical-driven romantic comedy Marry Me.
