Mumbai: Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) said its Activa scooter has crossed 2.5 crore customers in India.
The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer first rolled out the Activa scooter in India in 2001.
“Activa is the only scooter brand in the history of Indian two-wheeler industry to register 2.5 crore customers,” Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India said in a press release.
Activa took 15 years to cross the 1-crore customer mark, in 2015, and just another five years to reach 2.5 crore customers, it added.
“Since 20 years, Activa has been at the forefront of technological innovation, sometimes even decades before it became the industry norm,” said Atsushi Ogata, managing director, president and chief executive at HMSI.
Honda added technological advancements positioned Activa scooter as a “pioneer” in the two-wheeler industry.
