Adelaide: Australia romped home to victory in the first day-night Test match against India after the visitors posted their lowest ever score in a Test innings.
India were bundled out for just 36 runs in their second innings despite taking a first innings lead versus the hosts.
The Indian team scored 244 in their first innings and managed to bowl out the Australians for 191 before they lost their way in the second innings to post one of the lowest ever scores in an innings in Test cricket.
Virat Kohli top-scored in the first innings with 74, followed by 43 by Cheteshwar Pujara and 42 by Ajinkya Rahane before they were bowled out for 244 in 93.1 overs.
While it was Mitchell Starc who starred in triggering a collapse in the Indian defences in the first inings by scalping 4 wickets for 53 runs off 21 overs, Josh Hazlewood bamboozled the Indian batsmen in their second innings. Hazlewood took 5 wickets for for a miserly 8 runs off 5 overs.
The Indians lasted all of 21.2 overs at a dismal run rate of 1.69.
The Australians lost two wickets in the final chase and managed to knock off the winning runs in 21 overs, losing two wickets on the way.
