New York: Oracle Corp is moving its corporate headquarters from Redwood City, California to Austin, Texas, the business software maker said on Friday.
Companies in California are weighing the state’s higher operational costs and hefty taxes. Oracle is the latest technology firm to exit Silicon Valley after the coronavirus pandemic prompted a shift to remote work.
Oracle said said in a filing that staff can choose their office location as well as whether to work from home full time.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HP) had earlier this month also said that it would shift its headquarters from California to Texas.
Electric car-maker Tesla founder Elon Musk also said this week that he had moved to Texas from California.
