New Delhi: India’s largest automaker Maruti Suzuki India on Wednesday said it will raise the prices of its vehicles from next month to tide over the impact of increasing raw material costs.
Vehicle costs have been adversely affected by the surging input costs in the past year, the automaker said in a regulatory filing.
“It has become imperative to pass on” some impact of these costs to potential customers through a price increase next month, it said, adding that the increase in prices will vary according to the models.
Maruti Suzuki offers a range of four-wheelers from the entry-level small car, Maruti Alto, at prices starting from ₹2.95 lakh to multi-utility vehicle XL6 priced up to ₹11.52 lakh.
The announcement comes at a time when the auto industry is recovering from the coronavirus lockdown-induced disruptions.
